Black Friday planning usually starts with the channels already on the account. Meta and Google may still be doing most of the work, but that does not mean every extra dollar should go there.

For brands with a working offer, a clear margin and enough time to learn, Q4 can be a sensible moment to test one additional source of demand. The test should support the existing plan, not put it at risk.

Start with the problem in the current account

Before adding a channel, write down what is actually limiting growth. Is the audience getting smaller? Is prospecting more expensive? Are campaigns spending without enough qualified traffic? Or is the team simply looking for more volume before the holiday peak?

The answer affects the test. A new traffic source will not fix a weak offer, slow fulfilment or broken tracking.

Give the test one job

Choose one market, one offer and one decision. For example: can this source bring qualified visitors from the US at a cost the business can support?

Set the test budget before launch. Keep it separate from the money needed to protect the campaigns that already pay the bills. Decide in advance which results would justify more spend and which results would stop the test.

Prepare before the holiday rush

New account setup takes time. The buying team may need to provide business information, landing pages, product details and tracking access before a platform can review the advertiser.

Make sure the page works on mobile, the offer matches the ad and the important events reach your reporting system. If you wait until the week before Black Friday, there may not be enough time to fix the basics.

Keep Meta and Google running while you learn

Testing another channel does not require replacing the agency or account that manages your current campaigns. Treat it as a separate buying decision with its own budget, tracking and review schedule.

Compare qualified leads, sales and contribution margin where possible. A cheap click or a high click-through rate is useful information, but neither one proves that the traffic will produce a profitable customer.

Check the commercial terms first

Before funding a new account, ask who contracts with your business, what the minimum deposit is, how unused balances are handled and which tasks the provider will manage.

If a rebate is offered, confirm the qualifying spend, calculation method and settlement timing in writing. These details matter when you compare a new media source with the arrangements you already have.

YC Global Tech helps experienced advertisers explore selected native media options alongside their existing Meta and Google activity. Availability depends on the advertiser, target market and platform requirements. Account access does not guarantee campaign results.
